twitter

Twitter is a free social networking and micro-blogging service that allows its users to send and read other users updates which are text-based posts of up to 140 characters in length.

Updates are displayed on the user's profile page and delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them. Actually, there is more tools of this but i decided to make this post short and clean. Instead of listing down the Top 100 Twitter Tools i have decided to list down only the Top 10 Twitter Tools accordance to my own favorite one

1) TwitterFox is a Firefox extension that notifies you of your friends' status on Twitter and lets you make posts from your browser status bar.

2) Retweet This is an application designed for use with the Greasemonkey Firefox plug-in. It allows you to append a retweet button to the end of each Twitter entry to encourage your followers to retweet your posts.

3) Classify Twitter Users is a script that allows you to classify Twitter users and decide whether they are worth following based on their friends, followers and post ratios.

You can set the script to use your Twitter user scales (e.g. spammer, social climber, social rock star) or just gather more information about people you are following.

4) TwittAd allows Twitter users to monetize their account by accepting advertising on the background image of their Twitter user profile.

5) TwitterCounter
lets you add a daily updating TwitterCounter to your blog so everybody can see how popular you are by the number of persons following you.

6) TweetBeep is just like having Google Alerts for Twitter. It enables you to keep track of conversations that mention you, your products or your company via email. You can even keep track of who's tweeting your website or blog. It's a great tool for online reputation management and you don't even have to be a Twitter user to benefit from it.

7) Twitter Grader measures the reach and authority of a Twitter user, calculated by the pace of their updates, the completeness of their profile, their number of followers and the network power of those followers.

Twitter Grader displays as a score out of 100 and is consistently updating and adapting as your Twitter account grows. Based on those grades, Twitter Grader lists the Twitter Elite globally and in each country, just like Technorati does for bloggers.

8) TwitPic, as the name suggests, is a photo sharing tool for Twitter. When logged in, it allows you to upload photos and post them with comments as a Tweet. It works with a range of Twitter clients such as Twitterific, Twhirl and MobileTwitter and stores all your photos in a single location with updated viewing stats.

9) Twuffer is a Twitter buffer. It allows Twitter users to compose a líst of future tweets, and schedule their release. Twuffer is ideal for making hourly, daily or monthly announcements or send post-dated birthday greetings or reminders to people about upcoming events.

10) Twistori I have a real soft spot for this one. One of the developers is Amy Hoy, one of my favorite speakers from Webstock 2008 and a goth geek to boot. Twistori is a social experiment that taps into the Twitter conversations revolving around life's central activities: Love, Hate, Think, Believe, Feel, Wish.

commenter

Comment are the support for the blogger, without comment, most blogger will have less interest to make a post. But how if your readers wont leave comment even though you'd try your best? This post will teach you several ways to get more comment from your readers

1. Ask Their Opinion
You can ask your reader about their thought or ask if there is any question regarding your post, that way will surely encourage them to ask and commented. The best way to ask this is when you ask their opinion at the end of your post.

2. Just Get to the Point Please
Most readers hate long brief article because not all readers will have enough time in reading the entire of your post especially when you are trying to extend your post by giving the full description and tend to went way off topic which is also confusing them from finding the meaning of your post

3. Give the reward for the Top Commenter
You can give the reward for the top commenter by installing top commenter widget or you can write up a monthly top commenter on your blog post

4. Do Not Write Full Post
If necessary, try not to write full post or description so that will encourage your reader to ask. The more comment and question in your blog post, the more readers will come and see. This will surely increase the popularity of your blog post as many other readers will curious to see what other people are commenting.

5. Make Blog Contest
Contest are one of the best event that most people will love to participated because in contest, you're giving them a reward such as money, item, coupon, premium themes for wordpress, anything.. And this is the most obvious reason why people will commenting. But ensure you have the best traffic records in your site stats.

6. Advertise More
A wise man always told me that if you want your site to get more comment, you'll have to get more traffic and drag your visitor from the search engine index. So start by advertising your site either by using Adword, Adbrite, Text Link ads, YouTube or using Blog Traffic exchange such as BlogExplosion or BlogSoldier.

7. Join Blogger Community
Submitting your blog at certain site wont make your readers to leave comment. It will increase your PageRank but not with the comment. So it is essential to build a relationship and network with other blogger. The best and powerful way to do this is to joining the Blogger community. If you have made a new friend at Blog Catalog or MyBlogLog, then you can ask them to commenting on your blog. You can also make a friend through forums and social media site

8. Get Closer to the Blog Owner
Sometimes when people are visiting your blog and do commenting a lot. They, the Blog owner will curious to see whats your blog will looks like. So its not just be a temporary commenter but try to be the active one. I'm sure if you do that thing, the blog owner will do the same thing for you. Moreover they could link back to your site and put your site in their partner link and be a friend.

Keep in your mind that the comment are the support for the blog owner, without it your blog are nothing even with the best pagerank. Do answer their question if your reader are asking something or you can respond to every comment from your blog's reader. And thats all from me, i hope this tips will help you to generate more comment and not just traffic :)

20 Way to Gain More Subscriber

Posted by Takumi 86

subscriber

General reason why people will subscribe is because they found your site useful and have great content. Other depends on what they likes e.g your layout, attitude, and so much more. They, the subscriber are more like comment, where it supposed to be the support for your blog. This article will define and outlines a few thing that you could do to get more subscriber

1. Get Big RSS icon
Most people will feel lazy to click on the subscriber link that you are giving on your post, but if you give them big RSS icon either in your sidebar or in your top bar with the announcement to subscribe, they will probably subscribe.

2. Show RSS Icon in Every page of Your Blog
What i mean by saying this is that you don have to put as many RSS icon as you want in every page. All you have to do is to make sure that you put RSS icon in the appropriate place. Because only that way will prevent your reader from accusing you spamming your blog with your RSS icon.

3. Use Email Subscription
Make your reader to subscribe to your RSS by not just giving them the RSS icon but email as well. The best part of this is that they will get notified by email every time you make a new post. This works the same as if you join forum and make a post reply. When you had any intention to get notified everytime there's new reply under you, you might consider ticking the 'subscribe to this thread' option

4. Content is the King
Content are always the king, if you have made good post like sharing your tips, tutorial and so on, people tend to like your blog and they will probably bookmark it

5. Put a Link to Your RSS Feed in Every Of your Blog Post
You can put a small word/icon at the end of your blog post to asking your reader to subscribe. Make sure you use some encourage word like "We could be more grateful if you can subscribe to my RSS" or "Was this article useful for you? If yes, please consider subscribing to my RSS"

6. Use most Popular RSS Reader
Not all people recognized RSS Feed icon and if they do recognize it, they don know what it is all about. But you can take advantage from those people by giving only the most popular RSS feed, e.g Add this to My Yahoo icon or Add this to Google and a lot of unique popular icon

7. Post Frequently
As with that said, you have to publish and frequently updating your blog. The bottomline is, you make a new post and the reader wont get bored to come and visit your site. This is important if you want to keep your reader from visiting your site oftensugg.

8. Try Different Thing
You can try to post different thing than normal as you used to be. If you used to share your blogging tips then its time for you to try something new like making a tutorial about how you can setup your domain hosting to GoDaddy for example and a lot of thing that you could do to encourage them from subscribing.

9. Ask Them to Subscribe
There is a time when you need to ask your reader from subscribing to your RSS feed in your blog post. You can either do asking this at the end of your post or in the middle of your post.

10. Do Mentoring People
If you have good experience and the story of becoming the successful blogger, you can share that one up by asking them to subscribe to your newsletter or sign up on your site and do pay monthly to become member. One of example that were doing this method is CopyBlogger, they're offering a program to teach people how to sell content online. This is probably the most effective attempts that you could do if you want to get more subscriber but only require you a high-tech of knowledge to perform this

11. Sell Your Ebook
If you have ebook, you can sell it either by asking them to subscribe to your newsletter. If you don know how to make newsletter, try to using autoresponder service such as Aweber or Sendstudio NX. Check this post also to see how you can make e-book and sell it

12. Offer a Prize for your Subscriber
This probably works the same as Blog Contest but this time you're giving them a reward everytime they subscribe to your RSS email feed. How to check the number of your email subscriber is by login to your Google FeedBurner Account and see their email address from your email subscription list.

13. Write a single note on your Profile
If you have an account at such certain social bookmarking site or Social networking site like MySpace, Friendster, or Facebook, you might want to submit your RSS feed link on your profile or ask them to subscribes.

14. Do Not Monetize your RSS Feed
Some RSS Feed site like FeedBurner can monetize your rss with ads but i really suggesting you should not take advantage from your RSS feed as your reader might dislike it.

15. Subscribing is Free
Not all people have knowledge about the use of RSS Feed, they may think that subscribing is not free. I have to tell you that i have this opinion when i was a noobie, at that time i really had no idea or even heard of RSS Feed before, so educating them about the use of RSS feed is the most essential thing that will prevent them from misunderstanding about the real use of RSS Feed

16. Submit to RSS Directories
You can't never expect what is the best way to promote your RSS feed but to submit it. Check out this list from Robert A. Kearse.

17. Put your RSS Feed Link into Comment URL
I really don suggest you to do this but sometimes it works perfectly when you do commenting on other people blog. But keep in mind that not all blogger will approve your comment when you put your RSS link instead of your Site link.

18. Subscribe to Comment
Same as post feed, you can ask your readers to subscribe to your comment. But make sure that all the comment are worth and not a spam.

19. Make Subscribe Page
If you own Wordpress blog, you can make a new page about Subscribe but ensure that you have good testimonial and opinion from your readers. Collect all the good comment, put into your subscribe page and ask them to join.

20. Have Good Layout and Font
Having Good layout and easy-to-read font is a must. This is important because if you want people to subscribe, you have to make sure that your reader know what's your content is all about.

I have list down all the good tips from my experience and from other people opinion as i learned on what they're commenting. So here you have it, 20 Ways to Gain more Subscriber!

Courtesy of Sergio Parisi

Finally the day that people always wanted has finally come. You can now take a break, have a nice long breath, spending time with other related and fully enjoy this holidays because Holiday is just coming!

How Do We Filled Up this Holidays?

Well, personally you can do many things like:

1. Playing Video Games
2. Watching TV Show
3. Hang out with your friend
4. Ask your Girlfriend/Boyfriend to go out, spend time all day together
5. Go on vacation to other place that you have never went before like Hawaii, Idaho, and many other beautiful place

As a blogger, The most activity that you always do has finally ended. But for a serious blogger that takes this hobbies as a Full-time profession, You can do these 8 easy thing - i call this easy because it doesn't require too much time to finish but if you did not think that way then i'd suggest you to take it easy

1. Submit your Blog to Blog Directories
I know this may sounded hard for you because there are many site in this list but like i said, you don need to take it seriously. This is the best way to Increase your Pagerank during Holidays considering Google will update your Pagerank status in this mid of January (2009). You can also try these huge list from Robert A. Kearse. There are many usable link so i'd suggest you to submit your blog there too.

2. Answer Question in Yahoo! Answer
Yahoo! Answer is the best place where you can post your blog URL inside of your profile and if people like your answer, they will viewing your profile. If you have good niche post in your blog then you could share that one too but only when people are asking for it

3. Build Network with other Blogger in Social Bookmarking Sites
Build a network with other Blogger is the most important things, If you want people to get to know to your blog then makes them to know who you really are. Its the same thing when you live in new atmosphere, new place, you surely will need to know your neighborhood, because only that way will increase your relationship between blogger. You can start up by adding Friends in Social Bookmarking sites such as Digg, StumbleUpon, Mixx, Reddit, voted up their post and if you want, you can leave comment.

4. Join Other People Contest
Contest is easy, all you need is to make a new post and you are automatically participated, just like what i did in here and here, but make sure that you let know the blog owner otherwise you wont get anything. If you don win, then you don have anything to lose. If you have enough money in your pocket, you could make a blog contest and try to increase the popularity of your site

5. Join Contest or Offer in Forum
Join other people offer is good if you want to earn extra money during holidays. However, not all forum has this offer, The only forum i know is Online Web Market and MakeMoneyKingdom which you can see their offer in this page,
Well its not really an offer, but they're paying $5 for the first place and $2 for the second place but only if you make a good post and the Admin or one of the staff there are nominating your post. Those forum has only about 3.000+ member so you wont get many competitor. There is also a contest but not always, if you're interested then you can participated too.

6. Commenting
The most easy task but takes a lot of awareness. If you're commenting on other people blog, make sure that you are not spamming, because if you do then your comment will get removed. Most people hate spammer so be careful in commenting. If you can make good comment, then you are indirectly has build a relationship with the blog owner and other blogger too, so don just thinking for yourself but think with other blogger who read your comment. Because your attitude and behavior are judged from there.

7. Read Successful Story from Other Blogger
Its really important to learn from other pro blogger if you want to be succeeded and get inspired such as Matt Cutts, Yaro Starak, or from the 18 years old kid who can earn $100.000/month from penny stock market. If you prefer to buy a book, then i'd suggest you to buy This book for $16.95. Blog Blazers is a book that 40 Top Bloggers has sharing and revealing their secrets to be a successful blogger. good post

Most people will love to read good post and what your site content is all about, if you have share good content in your blog then your post could get commented. But people often get stuck on what subject to post next so here i'm going to give you an advice to create 100% pure content based on your writing skill

I don have any clue to make a Good Post
Every problem has their own way out. If you stuck on this matter then don let it down on you. There is several ways where you can get a lot of ideas.

1. Your Office

If you work as an assistant, journalist or employment then you could get inspired by the situation in your office. If you work in Journalistic company and have an affair with your partner or even from your boss, then as soon as you get back home and started to think again about what has just happened to you. Just when you had think the solution, you could write that up on your blog.

2. Go Outside!
If you still stuck on what to post next, then the only thing to help yourself is to go outside and have some fresh air. You can do this by calling your friend and made an appointment. If you don have any friend then you can go out by yourself and find any other place where you had never been before. Just try to enjoy yourself.

3. Media
If you decide to stay at home then you could get inspired by watching TV show or Listening to music or reading the magazine. So there is a lot of resource in your home and you just need to realize that!

4. Blog/site
When you're visiting someone else site and see what they share, did you ever thought on how they can make it?! You can get inspired from their success story and create your own too. Just try not to be shy or feel hopeless, be optimistic that you can achieve and be better than those people!

5. What's Your Ability?
Are you good at drawing or playing video games or designing something? Then you can create your own tutorial and share it to the people who don know about it yet. You can get this ability from your course class that you're attended.

Then after you get the ideas, the next thing to do is..

1. Get paper
Get your Notepad or MS Word, write down your opinion, view, thought and save it to your document.

2. Get Screenshot
If its really a necessity, you can give a snapshot by using Digital camera or from your own PC, take a shot and post it on your article.

10 Reason Why People Will Not Leave Comment

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

comment

You have been blogging all this time but no one seems to leave comment to your post, They might be interested to leave comment but there is several reason why they wont leave it

1. They are Anonymous
Most people who come and visit your blog has no identity, meaning they came as Anonymous user. Or if they have it, they are just feel lazy to sign in and leave comment

2. Your Post is not Original
Some people will feel minded if you steal an article from other people post. If you really want to make them commenting then write down your own opinion and leave backlink to where you get that post. Don ever claim that as your own work even though your intention is to share it to other people

3. Your Post contain Link and Picture only
This is the most reliable reason why people will not interested to leave comment. If your post just went blank meaning no text, no description, and content only then what to commented? They just don know what to say about your post. And the only thing they would like to comment was probably to say "Thanks" or "Much appreciated" and many other single line word.

4. Your Layout are Awful
If you did happen to have bad layout in your blog then people will lazy to read the whole articles. So please before you decide to apply new skin or templates, make sure you do preview it.

5. You are Not Promoting Your Site
If you just sit there and do nothing to promote your site then how people will find your site?! It doesn't matter whether Google will help you to find new reader everytime they search stuff that relates to your blog. If you have a thought like this then your blog could takes more long enough to get more comment. So do Something!

6. Single Line Post
If you did happen to create this post then its obvious no matter how much traffic your site has, they will less likely to leave comment. The best solution for this is to leave Video and Image inside of your post.

7. Your Site Never Been Updated For an Ages
Giving an updates is a must. If your latest post is more than 2 month then your best commenter who did always commenting will soon leaving your site because they feel there is nothing to see on your site.

8. English please!
English is the most common and worldwide language so if you want to get more comment from your reader then use English. If you can't write in english then join an English class or find someone who can help you.

9. Your Post Has so Many Picture
Not all people will have better connection speed in viewing numerous picture in your post. Posting so many picture could also confusing them from finding the meaning of your post. Unless you want to create a tutorial post then its fine but try to reduce the dimension of image size

10. You are a Badass!
You have bad reputation as commenter and people recognize you from your post, Its probably because you are a spammer. My suggestion is, if you really have nothing to say then don't leave comment. The more you act like this the more they will dislike your blog. So please behave on yourself

Another common reason is
- Comment function is turned off
- Site went down/off

How to create your own Fav Icon for your Blog

Posted by Takumi 86

Fav icon

FavIcon are one of the useful thing to 'brand' your blog, it will create an image that represent your blog, let say you own a Make money Blog and you're using Dollar ($$$) as your FavIcon so when people heard about your site name elsewhere, the first thing they would probably remember is your Site logo which is your FavIcon, second would be your content. And to be honest, i got these tips from BloogerBuster which is helping me a lot to creating this FavIcon however this trick wont be so useful for those who are still using IE 6.0 or any browser that doesn't have or support Tabbed browsing.

For the steps, you can simply go to BloogerBuster

Here's the steps

1. Ensure you have image file with 16 x 16 in dimension size. This should be in JPG/PNG format for use with the Favicon generator.

2. Go to your Blogger dashboard, create new post but don publish it, instead, upload your image files and copy the image source file [IMG SRC>

3. Go to your Layout, click on Edit HTML and find [/head> tags

4. Paste this code above it

[link href='http://your-icon-url.png' rel='shortcut icon'/>

[link href='http://your-icon-url.png' rel='icon'/>

5. Once you're done, save it and you are ready to see your new favicon, test it with your Firefox

For Gavicon Generator Site, you could try one of these

Or you can make it by yourself by reducing the image size into 16 x 16 and rename it as logo.ico with PNG extension.

If you found any issue, then try this code (From BloogerBuster)

[link href='http://www.blogger.com/favicon.ico' rel='icon' type='image/vnd.microsoft.icon'/>

Comment Author Photo

Posted by Takumi 86

comment author

Blogger or Blogspot by default has no chance on displaying the commenter author photo if they leave comment as Anonymous or using other service like Wordpress/Open ID. If you (as blogger commenter) did not upload your pic at your profile, you cannot see your photos, Thats bad because as we know, comment author photo are more like an Avatar that represent your nickname.

This is pretty bad for blogger blogspot but not for WP user. However there is a tweak to make it happen, all you need is HTML basic knowledge only

How to make it happen?
Go to PurpleMoggy site and learn the way, i'm sure you'll know what i'm means. If you're having difficult, then read their comment or you can ask here, and see what i can do for you

1. Go to your Blogger Dashboard Layout, click on Edit HTML, check the "Expand widget templates" box and find these line

[dl id='comments-block'>
[b:loop values='data:post.comments' var='comment'>
[dt class='comment-author' expr:id='"comment-" + data:comment.id'>
[div class='commentphoto' style='float:right;'/>
[a expr:name='"comment-" + data:comment.id'/>
[b:if cond='data:comment.authorUrl'>
[a expr:href='data:comment.authorUrl' rel='nofollow'>
[b:else/>
[data:comment.author/>
[/b:if>
[data:commentPostedByMsg/>
[/dt>
[dd class='comment-body'>
[b:if cond='data:comment.isDeleted'>
[span class='deleted-comment'>
[b:else/>
[p>[/p>
[/b:if>
[/dd>
[dd class='comment-footer'>
[span class='comment-timestamp'>
[a expr:href='"#comment-" + data:comment.id' title='comment permalink'>
[data:comment.timestamp/>
[/a>
[b:include data='comment' name='commentDeleteIcon'/>
[/span>
[/dd>
[div style='clear:both;'/>
[/b:loop>
[/dl>

2. The lines in bold means the word you need to add, you can change float:right to float:left if you want the pic to be on the left instead of the right

3. Last thing we need to do is to find tags and add the following code above it

[script src='http://jscripts.ning.com/get.php?xn_auth=no&id=830605' type='text/javascript'/>
[script type='text/javascript'>
//[![CDATA[
addLoadEvent(function(){showCommentPhotos('commentphoto','comment-author', 1);});
//]]>
[/script>

4. Once you're done, save it

Attention! To make the works, please replace [ with < style="font-weight: bold;">bold RED right after //

//[![CDATA[
addLoadEvent(function(){showCommentPhotos('commentphoto','comment-author', 1);});
//]]>
